What to expect at your first consultation.
Your first consultation will determine what, if any, surgery is required. This visit takes about 30 minutes and you will usually be seen first by Lyn McDonald who is Professor Walter’s specialist orthopaedic nurse consultant and, of course, by Professor Bill Walter.
Dr Bill Walter will look at your x-rays and other imaging, and do a physical examination to assess your hip or knee problem. There is a fee payable on the day for this consultation, some of which you will get back from Medicare. You must bring a referral from your GP or medical specialist.
